
There are many reasons to keep food & supplies prepared for emergencies. And not JUST food and supplies. They are great to get you through a temporary emergency or into another season, but learning practical self-sufficient skills is what will keep you alive in the long run:
- As a means to counter-culture the Pagan World offerings of dangerous food, meds and teachings
- Regular Weather Emergencies
- Power Outages
- Inflation
- Mandatory Quarantine
- War or Civil Discourse
- During tribulations, you can offer to help your church because you have extra.
- Having an abundance allows you to give and continue to introduce others to Jesus!
- When the rapture comes, think of how many people you may bring to Jesus (including those family members) if you leave food and supplies, including Bibles and words of encouragement (Place little cards inside buckets and food!)
- And of Course, the Bible has many examples of real-world success and failures bases on preparedness, then applies them to a life in Christ.
- Ezekiel 38:7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
- Proverbs 22:3 The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it.
- Proverbs 20:4 Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.
- 1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
- Ecclesiastes 11:8 But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many.
- Proverbs 20:13 Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.
- Proverbs 24:27 Prepare your work outside, get everything ready for yourself in the field, and after that build your house.”
